A P1.5 indoor SMD screen has its LEDs 1.538 mm apart. That spacing decides how close people can stand, how big the screen must be for a given resolution, and what it costs. Often sold as P1.53 or P1.56 depending on the maker; the viewing rules are the same.

Where a P1.5 indoor screen works best

- lecture halls with a close front row
Indoor modules are not sealed against rain or direct sun, so they must stay inside or under full cover.
Is P1.5 the right pitch for you?
- If most viewers will be closer than about 1.5 m, a finer pitch such as P1.2 indoor looks smoother.
- If nobody comes closer than about 1.86 m, P1.8 indoor gives the same picture from there and costs less per square metre.
- Measure the distance from the screen to the closest viewer, and the width of wall you have. Our pixel pitch guide explains the rule.

How close can people stand to a P1.5 screen?
About 1.5 m is the closest comfortable distance; from 3.1–4.6 m the picture looks completely smooth.
How big is a full-HD P1.5 screen?
To show 1920×1080 pixels natively, a P1.5 screen is about 3.0 m wide and 1.7 m high. Smaller screens still play HD video; the controller scales it.
Can P1.5 be used outdoors?
Not as an indoor model: indoor modules are not weatherproof and are too dim for direct sun. Choose an outdoor model for anything exposed to rain or sun.
