A P3 outdoor SMD screen has its LEDs 3 mm apart. That spacing decides how close people can stand, how big the screen must be for a given resolution, and what it costs. Outdoor P3 is a fine outdoor pitch for sites where people stand within a few metres.

Is P3 the right pitch for you?
- If nobody comes closer than about 4 m, P4 outdoor gives the same picture from there and costs less per square metre.
- Measure the distance from the screen to the closest viewer, and the width of wall you have. Our pixel pitch guide explains the rule.

Frequently asked questions
How close can people stand to a P3 screen?
About 3 m is the closest comfortable distance; from 6–9 m the picture looks completely smooth.
How big is a full-HD P3 screen?
To show 1920×1080 pixels natively, a P3 screen is about 5.8 m wide and 3.2 m high. Smaller screens still play HD video; the controller scales it.
Can P3 be used indoors?
It can, but outdoor modules are much brighter than needed indoors and cost more; for an indoor wall an indoor model of a similar pitch is better value.
