A P16 outdoor SMD screen has its LEDs 16 mm apart. That spacing decides how close people can stand, how big the screen must be for a given resolution, and what it costs. P16 is used when the screen is huge and viewers are far away; up close it looks blocky.

Where a P16 outdoor screen works best
- motorway billboards viewed from far away (with the relevant authority’s approval)
- very large building wraps
- stadium-scale displays
- large-format advertising on a tight budget

Is P16 the right pitch for you?
- If most viewers will be closer than about 16 m, a finer pitch such as P10 outdoor looks smoother.
- Measure the distance from the screen to the closest viewer, and the width of wall you have. Our pixel pitch guide explains the rule.

About 16 m is the closest comfortable distance; from 32–48 m the picture looks completely smooth.
How big is a full-HD P16 screen?
To show 1920×1080 pixels natively, a P16 screen is about 30.7 m wide and 17.3 m high. Smaller screens still play HD video; the controller scales it.
Can P16 be used indoors?
It can, but outdoor modules are much brighter than needed indoors and cost more; for an indoor wall an indoor model of a similar pitch is better value.
